Specialties
Besides teaching songwriting as well as guitar and piano basics to children, Eleanor also offers vocal, acting, and performance coaching. She can help your child learn how to sing anything from Wicked to Taylor Swift or prepare them for any acting audition whether it’s for film/tv or on the stage. Eleanor has taken vocal and acting lessons for over a decade, and has been a relentless student of her own voice. She knows she can help younger voices with all the bits of knowledge she’s gathered over the years. Eleanor majored in theater at Berkeley, also supplementing her degree with some music theory classes and has a musical theater certificate from the National Musical Theater Institute at the Eugene O’Neill. She teaches your child to be more confident in their physicality on stage and performance delivery. Acting is a huge part of delivering a good vocal performance, and Eleanor not only teaches vocal technique, but works on other performance skills some vocal coaches may look over like how to move on stage, how to emote in the face, how to break down and analyze the lyrics or text of the piece to be able to sing/speak it in a way that delivers a story and emotionally affects her audience, and more. She teaches audition technique as well.
These skills translate to making your child a more confident person overall in every aspect of life.
Meet the Business Owner
LA native Eleanor Hammond is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist, and actor. She has a BA in theater from UC Berkeley. During her time at Cal, she produced and performed two original musicals she wrote. She has nannied/taught music to kids ages 0-15 and has been a Songwriting and Theater Teacher at Camp Wildfolk. She also performed at KidSpace Museum. While teaching, Eleanor is nannying, producing her debut album, writing pop songs in the sync world for film/tv/commercials, and finding her next pair of vintage cowboy boots.

Rates
For a single child (negotiable for bigger groups):
45 min (great for younger kids) - $50
60 min - $65
*Eleanor takes $10 off if you do a remote lesson. Her prices cover lesson prep and please know the distance of your location can affect these rates.
(I will also discount the rate as I see fit if you have to make a drive of a considerable distance)

Do you teach groups ever?
She teaches individuals and groups!
Do you offer remote lessons?
Yes, she offers lessons through Zoom, and will take $10 off due to it being a remote lesson.
Do you come to us or do we drive to you?
For vocal coaching, she prefers if you came to her so she doesn’t have to lug her keyboard, but if you have a piano at home that is a huge plus. She can travel anywhere in LA county (lesson price might change depending on if it’s a considerable distance away). You can also come to her house in Los Feliz where she has a grand piano and a lot of guitars.
How do I pay you?
Cash or Zelle is preferred.
